Ok, so it’s not actually October anymore. However, I have been drowning in assignments and am only now able to breathe again. So Pride then, I guess it’s time to talk about things I’m proud of. There’s not a lot but let’s see this as an exercise in positivity.
Favourite thing about
Your appearance: I really like my collarbones, not sure why.
Your personality: My resilience. I somehow always get back up again.
Your habits: That I’ve learned the importance of relaxing.
Your past: Made a lot of right choices when they weren’t the easiest to make.
Your style: My lipstick is on point even when the rest of me isn’t.
Your future: Some things are actually going ok, finally.
Your skills: I’m pretty damn good at Marvels vs. Capcom 3 and I make a really good mushroom soup.
What’s something you wish more people knew about you?
The best way to get to know me is to skip the small talk and go straight for a real discussion. It takes a while to get to know me, but I’m a lot nicer than I first appear. Oh, and don’t walk up to me and ask me about my accent. That’s a bit like walking up to someone and go “OMG YOU HAVE A LISP”, it really doesn’t get me in a talking mood. Try talking to me about video games or IR instead. Or The West Wing, I’m always keen to talk about The West Wing.
What’s the best ego boost you’ve got in your arsenal?
That expired Mensa membership card.
List seven great things about yourself:
I’ll try almost anything once. I was able to overcome a severe phobia of needles. I can read four or five languages. I’m not afraid of being a bit weird. I have a very vivid imagination (it’s very dangerous to ask me what I’m thinking about). I’m a strong swimmer. I get easily excited about things (just don’t always show it).
What’s the greatest compliment you’ve ever gotten?
A senior academic at my university once told me that I have “an interesting brain”, I’m choosing to take that as a compliment.
